Biography

Dr. Montenegro obtained his Ph.D. from University College London, United Kingdom, in 2015, as a member of the Atomic, Molecular, Optical, and Positron Physics group. He is a theoretical physicist specializing in quantum information and its applications to quantum technologies. He has held postdoctoral positions in Chile, China, and the United Arab Emirates, and previously served as an Associate Research Professor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Dr. Montenegro has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles, including several as first author, in journals such as Physics Reports, npj Quantum Information, Physical Review Letters, Quantum, and Physical Review Research. His work has received more than 1,000 citations according to Google Scholar and has been presented at prestigious international conferences. His research focuses on quantum sensing and metrology, quantum information, and quantum technologies, particularly using many-body, cavity quantum electrodynamic, cavity quantum optomechanical, and hybrid spin-optomechanical systems. He has received multiple competitive research grants, including grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has co-supervised graduate students.
